A 71-year-old man was rescued in time after losing consciousness while walking his dogs. It was his four-legged friends who protected him and found him help.

The incident had taken place late the previous morning in Braithwaite in the mountainous Lake District of North West England. The black-coated Labrador Retriever and the Golden Retriever were accompanying their owner when he became unwell. He lost consciousness and collapsed.

They took turns to save their master
The four-legged dogs soon knew what they had to do to save their master. The Golden Retriever stayed with the owner to watch over him and protect him. His fellow dog ran off to find a hiker they had met earlier. The lady realized that something was wrong and followed the animal, which guided her towards its owner.

She immediately contacted the emergency services. The Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, a local mountain rescue unit, was sent to the scene. They arrived at around 11.30 am, just as the man was beginning to regain consciousness. The team’s doctor examined him at the scene and the victim was then taken by ambulance to the hospital for further examination.

His wife, Diana Ross, thanked the hiker for following the Labrador and calling for help. She also praised the role of these “incredible dogs”, who have shown the extent of their intelligence and loyalty.

” Thank you so much for rescuing my husband (71 not 55 – he’ll dine out on that one). He is rather special to me! 👍 ” Diana said.
