A couple going on vacation was surprised to find an extra item in their bags at the Southwest Airlines terminal. It seems that their pet dog had slipped into one of the suitcases unnoticed and almost left on their trip.
Jared and Kristi Owens didn’t notice anything strange until they tried to check their luggage. The couple, who live in Texas, were going on a trip to Las Vegas. It turned out that the luggage was heavier than expected and the couple would have to pay for the extra weight.
When they decided to reorganize their belongings to see if they could get their bags to meet the weight limit, they discovered the problem.
Jared said a Southwest Airlines employee assisted them in opening the luggage.
It seems that their pet dog Icky had jumped inside before it had been closed at home without anyone noticing.
“We were dumbfounded, shocked and embarrassed, to be honest. She likes to hole up in our clothes baskets, closets, blankets, anyplace she can get warm and cozy, and that day, I guess she picked our bag that we had left open with clothes in it for many hours.” Jared said.
Fortunately, the couple was able to arrange at the last minute for the Chihuahua to be taken home. But before that, they took some pictures of Izzy to keep the moment in mind.
“We planned this trip at the last minute to get away from the daily hustle and bustle of three dogs, a rabbit and several fish and two crazy, beautiful little girls,” said Jared.
